Understanding & Managing Anxiety
As children prepare for the transition to secondary school, emotional resilience is more important than ever. This engaging and interactive workshop is designed to help pupils aged 9–11 understand their emotions, manage anxiety, and build confidence.
Using relatable stories, engaging puppet characters, and hands-on activities, children will explore how their brain processes emotions—particularly worry and anxiety. They’ll learn practical, age-appropriate strategies to regulate their emotions, fostering a sense of control and calm in their daily lives.
By blending fun, education, and real-world skills, this workshop creates a safe and supportive space where children can develop emotional adaptability, strengthen their self-awareness, and feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges.
Workshop Benefits
Equips children with tools to recognize, understand, and manage worries.
Builds confidence by normalizing different emotional responses and fostering self-compassion.
Provides practical techniques that can be applied at school and home.
Supports children in feeling understood, validated, and prepared for new experiences.
A Calming Conclusion
The workshop concludes with a soothing, multi-sensory guided visualization designed to help children find their inner calm and safe space.
This expertly crafted visualization integrates the four most effective techniques I’ve used in one-to-one psychotherapy sessions with children, making it a powerful tool for regulating emotions and reducing anxiety.
To ensure lasting impact, teachers will receive a recording of the guided visualization, which can be played each morning in the classroom.
